This seminar will explore the regulation of shale gas operations, taking an international perspective on the licencing terms for shale gas and coal bed methane, the environmental issues and the commercial (joint operating agreement) and policy settings.


The course will be led by John Chandler - Associate Director, Centre for Mining, Energy and Natural Resources Law; Professor Terrance Daintith - editor of the standard work on United Kingdom oil and gas; Professor Alastair Lucas - leading Canadian energy lawyer who has written widely on environmental policy and law.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

WA legal practitioners - 1 CPD point. 0.5 in Legal Skills and Practice (Competency Area 1) and 0.5 in Ethics/Professional Responsibility (Competency Area 2).
