Winthrop Prof Nolan SharkeyNolan Sharkey, UWA Winthrop Professor and Barrister of High Court, Francis Burt Chambers
 
Dr Nolan Sharkey’s work experience includes seven years as a tax consultant in the private sector prior to becoming a full time academic with UNSW in 2002. He joined UWA in 2014. He is a barrister of the NSW Supreme Court and the High Court and continues to give periodic tax technical advice.

Dr Sharkey has advised government bodies on international tax and China’s taxes, consulted to and advised the NSW government, the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAA), the Australian Tax Office, the Chinese National People’s Congress and China’s State Administration of Taxation amongst others. 


Continuing Professional Points (CPD)

  • Full attendance entitles a legal practitioner to claim six CPD points. Competency Area 2 (Professional Skills) = 1.5 and Competency Area 4 (Substantive Law) = 4.5.
