The University of Western Australia's Law School's staff including Professor Robyn Carroll and Associate Professor Stella Tarrant have participated in the 20th Anniversary Review of the 1994 Chief Justice’s Gender Bias Task Force Rep conducted by Women Lawyers of WA (WLWA).

WLWA investigated and documented the extent to which gender bias exists in the law and administration of justice in Western Australia today.  The 2014 Gender Bias Taskforce Review Report (2014 Report) was launched on 23 September 2014 by the Hon Chief Justice Wayne Martin AC.

The 2014 Report runs to 660 pages and contains 197 Recommendations for ways to enhance women’s participation in the legal profession, justice system and community more broadly, and to combat discrimination in the law.

In her Introduction, WLWA President Cathryn Grenville concludes ‘In summary, this 2014 Review highlights that while much has been achieved since 1994, much more remains to be done to eliminate gender bias in the law and in its administration in Western Australia'.
